TIDINGS OF GREAT JOY!!!

Hello, Xangerz...My b-day is this Thursday!  All are welcome to my b-day gala-event Friday night.  We will go out for din-dins somewhere in the city, and then wherever else we feel like going after!  I really hope you can all make it for this night of revelry!  Not sure exactly what time things are starting, but we'll figger it out I'm sure!
Happy Monday everyone...

"HEIF: BEHIND BARS" by heif.

Ok, i wasn't REALLY behind bars last night...but Gareth Davis was!!!    What a horrible ending to a night in the 'Ville!  Well, here's the story...Gareth came down last night to see my place and to hang out.  We didn't end up seeing a movie because he was a little late arriving.  We got some chinese food, watched The Office, and decided to go out for a ride...innocent enough right?  Well, we ended up at Dunkin Donuts to get some coffee.  When we pulled into the parkinglot, we noticed a couple police cars and a couple spanish ladies with kids.  The cops were talking to one of the ladies about something, and apparently they had pulled her over for driving an unregistered and/or uninsured vehicle. We walked into Dunkies, got our coffee and decided to sit in the car and drink it, instead of inside the stanky dunkies.  So, we were probably sitting there for about 30 minutes, minding our own business (sorta...i have to admit, i had my window down because i was being nosey and was trying to hear what the cop was saying to the lady), and innocently drinking coffee around 10pm on a thursday.

We were about done, and so were the cops, so we saw one get in his cruiser and back up, as if he was going to leave the parkinglot.  Well...little did we know that he was about to approach US!  He backed up about 30 feet, blocked Gary's car, and put his lights on!   We were like, "WHAT?!  What did we do???"  The (jerky) cop came up and asked for Gary's license and registration.  Gary had told me earlier that he forgot his license at home, argh!! He told that to the cop, and the cop said just to give him the registration, and he asked him to verify his name, dob, ss#, address, etc.  Gary asked him what the problem was, and he said, "I'll tell you in a minute" (of course in an incredibly rude manor).  We were both freaked out, because we hadn't done a thing!  The other cop had finished up with the other women and came over to us, and was flashing his stupid flashlight on ME!  I'm just sitting there with a cup of coffee in my hand!   So, a few minutes later, the extra-jerky cop comes back and says, "Mr. Davis, step out of the car...there's a warrant out for your arrest."  WHAAAAAAAAT?!  Gary was totally shocked and had NO idea why there could possibly be a warrant out for his arrest!  So, they took out their handcuffs, and cuffed him...i couldn't believe it!  I got out of the car, because I couldn't stay in it, since they were taking him down to the police station.  Gary gave me his keys and his money, because we were going to have to pay $40 to bail him out.  The cops said even if it WAS a mistake, they still had to arrest him because their records showed otherwise.  (Nice to know that you can be arrested for being totally innocent, huh?)  So, they instructed me to walk down the street to the police station so I could wait for Gary.  (Nice to know they didn't offer me a ride or anything, huh?)  So...I had to walk down there myself, and when i arrived, I called Ian, since I knew he's appreciate the story, and I called Ra.  I was SO angry!   Of course, i waited...and waited...and waited.  Finally one of the cops came out to tell me what's going on and that i had to wait for the bailbondsman to show up.  The cop said that there was probably an error in their system, and there probably really shouldn't have been a warrant out for Gary.  DUH!  Way to go, state of Massachusetts.

In a nutshell, what probably happened was:  Gary had gotten a ticket about 3 years ago for driving an uninsured car or something like that.  He had to pay a $500 fine, but when he was going to get his paycheck so he could PAY the fine, he was pulled over again.  Because of that, I think they suspended his license for a while.  Everything was resolved soon after that though, and he got letters from the city saying he was all set and he could drive again.  Apparently, someone screwed up and didn't correct things in the database, so down in the Boston area, they thought there was a warrant out on him.  Idiots!!!  So...finally the bail-guy showed up, about 30 minutes after the cop told me he would, and they let Gary out (after getting our $40).  We walked back to his car, and Gary dropped me off at home and headed back to Dracut.  As a result, he has to go to court in Lowell before Monday morning...because of some morons that messed up!   Anyway...it was such a crazy night...you go out for coffee and your friend gets arrested.  Well, i have to get ready for work.  Enjoy your weekends everyone, and try to stay out of jail!

Glorious!!!!!  by Heif.

Hello all....I hope this Thursday evening finds you all in good stead!  I have decided to entitle this post "Glorious" because today was just that!  I did a little work early in the afternoon, then decided to get out for some exercise.  I have been jogging and walking around where I live, but since I had some extra time, I decided to drive downtown (since it's so close now!) I parked near the public gardens, took my ipod with me, and walked through the park.  I headed down towards the Esplanade/Hatchshell area.  I jogged around down by the river and the lagoons while listening to some Brahms. (I should have pretended i was a conductor and waved my arms in the air as i was jogging!) The jogging was going ok, but I wore the wrong kind of pants for THAT, and they kept slowly inching down.  It got really annoying because every few minutes I had to pull them back up, so I switched to walking.  It was still glorious though!  Of course I saw many animals, such as: squirrels, mallard ducks, non-mallard ducks, and swans (in the park).    It was the perfect day for a fall-walk....sunny, not too hot, but not cold either!   I saw some great dogs in the park...they were huge!!!   I don't know what breed they were, but one probably came up as high as my chest when he was on all fours!  They were walking around like they owned the place, and they knew everyone was just staring at them.  Well, anyway...just wanted to blog quickly about my wonderful afternoon.  Hopefully I can make it down there a couple times a week to exercise, or maybe even Jazzercise!  If anyone would like to come down on a weekend afternoon for a lovely walk, you're more than welkommen!  (that's German for "welcome")   Well, i gotta finish getting ready....gareth davidson is stopping by to see my new place, and we'll probably go to a moobie!   Have a great weekend everyone....

"I'M GONNA MAKE IT AFTERAAAAALL!" by heif.

"Heeeeeey, Kiiiiiiids!!!"~Binky the Clown, Garfield.

Do you like the background color of this blog?  Well, it's basically the color of my new room down here in the 'Ville!  Nice huh?  I can't believe i haven't blogged about moobing yet, but I've been wicked bizzle-foshizzle!  On top of moving, attempting to decorate, unpacking, and snacking, work has been SO busy because someone up and quit!  I don't think she gave a notice, so the few of us left have been stuck picking up the slack.  Word has it that at LEAST one more person is leaving soon too!  She works in the office, so it doesn't affect me too much at least, but this is getting out of hand!  The office manager, Nicole, is also looking around for other jobs.  I think she's just tired of appraisals in general.  Ian's also planning on moving the office down to the Nashville area.  (No, i don't have to move down there...don't worry).  But HE'S moving there!  And Bengal Cat!  Yes, he's moving...AGAIN.  He's tired if Miami (pronounced Mee-a-mee), and Nashville has some pretty nice condos at a good rate.  So, I guess Bengal Cat has to get some cowboy boots to wear or something!

In other news: I applied for a music studio job in Framingham last week.  I never heard back from the guy, so I didn't get the job.  JERKS!!!

Hen's Corner:  Well...as you all could have guessed, I think hen is taking my move pretty hard.  Broo informed me that she's been sleeping on the couch (which is unheard of for HER).  I felt awful!  I saw her tonight because i had to go home for some biznass.  She just kept running upstairs and meowing because she wanted to spend time with me in my old room, just like old times...awww!  It nearly broke my Heiffy-heart!  I gave her lots of hugs until she got all fidgetty and started kicking to get down.  I felt a little better after that.  I hope she doesn't miss me as much as I miss her!  I've been having trouble falling asleep at night, and I think it's because she's not curled up next to me!  Don't get me wrong; i don't lay there ALL night staring at the ceiling, but even if i'm incredibly exhausted, it's still taking me a little longer to doze off.  (I will admit that I have "Orange-eye Bear"* with me to take Hen's place next to me.  Not that he could EVER replace her, but I just need something squishy to put my arm around).  It felt odd laying there the first couple nights with nothing right next to me!  I'm sure after a while, I won't need him RIGHT next to me anyway.  Now stop laughing!

*Orange-eye Bear is my teddy from when i was really little...he has orangey eyes, and he's really worn out, but still in one piece.

Heif's Biznass:  Well, i went home tonight because i had a new digi-piano delivered to me!  I traded in my old Kawai, because it's really heavy and hard to move around.  I think I also needed to upgrade, because a few of the keys weren't working so well, and the sound on my new Korg is much better.  I will miss my ol' digi though.  I learned many a tune on it!  We got it when i was just a kid...it was probably one of the first digital pianos ever made! Prolly even the oldest in recorded history!  Well, maybe not...but it's at least 15 years old.  It held up well though in all those years.  I'd like to thank it for putting up with my practicing and wrong note-hitting.  It also put up with many a greasy finger, as i snacked on various foods while practicing.  It also witnessed the first ever "Put it on my piano!"   Let me explain:  One time, Erin asked me if i wanted a certain snack, but I was playing a song.  So, I didn't want to just stop mid-measure.  I just replied (in a gruff, British, old man's voice) "PUT IT ON MY PIAAAAAH-NO!"   We then made up a whole story about how Mozart must have had a similar experience with food on his piano.  (Even though they didn't even call them pianos back then, and mozart didn't speak English or have a British accent).  I do like to imagine him playing by candlelight, in an old Deutsch-haus...his white, powdered wig glowing in the dim light, his coat tails hanging over the back of his bench....his maid enters with a tray of various pastries, and perhaps a glass of wine.  She politely inquires (in German) if he would like a late-night snack....and suddenly she hears, "PUT IT ON MY PI-AAAAH-NO!"  Then you see Mozart playing one of his sonatas with little tarts and cookies all lined up off to the side of his music.  Ok, I think you guys get the general idea of that little rant.  It is a beautiful thought though, isn't it!

Ok....i'm SO happy I finally posted.  Tonight is the first night all week i haven't been up working till 2 or 3am.  I still have a lot to do in my room, since my new desk is in the corner in about 15 pieces, and my drawers have clothes in them, but are piled on top of eachother.  The Coz has to bring the bureau down soon, because it was too heavy for me and Broo.  Hopefully he and Broo can handle it!  Well, I hope everyone can make it down here at some point to see my place!  Maybe I could have a little dinnah-paaahty?  I can't guarantee the dinner will be GOOD, but...whatever!  It's the thought that counts, right?  Ok...it's midnight, and since i actually don't have to be up early tomorrow, I'm gonna watch some TV!  Now...comment-away :O)

IF THAT'S MOVIN' UP, THEN I'M....

MOVIN' OUT!     Yes, you heard right, folks...Heif is finally flying the coop!  And it's about time!  I found a great place with some great roommies and a great cat named "Miss Kittykins!"  So...you might be wondering, "Where is this place exactly?"  Well, i'll tell you...it's in lovely Somerville, MA.  I know Somerville ain't exactly paradise, but it's good enough for me.  Granted, it does have its....undesirable areas.  However, my new street is quiet with lots of trees on it.  It has your typical 2 family homes mostly.  The house i'm moving into is a 2-family with the apartment on the 2nd and 3rd floors.  My bedroom is on the 3rd floor, which used to be an attic I'm assuming.  The great part is, my room is HUGE!  It's almost the same size as my room now at Dave & Ruthie's!  I was so excited when I saw it because I don't have to move all my stuff into a shoebox, yay!  It's a very cute room too, because it has sloping ceilings and some neat angles.  It has 2 or 3 windows, a big closet, and crawlspaces on both sides of the room.  Extra storage...score!    There's also a 1/2-bath right next to my room which is great for getting ready for bed or in case i have to go in the middle o' the night!  (this way i don't have to just wet the bed for convenience-sake).  The rest of the apartment is spacious with a large living room, dining room, and kitchen.  There's a full bath on the 2nd floor.  I think 1 bedroom is on the 2nd floor and the other 3 are on the 3rd with mine.  There is even a tiny backyard, which I'm sure i won't use anyway, but it's good to have a little grass at least.  Oh, and free laundry in the basement!

The roommates:  I will have 3....Serena, Jen, and Alyssin.  Serena is 29, and an accountant.  She seems like a cool accountant though!  Jen is...i think my age and she's a graphic designer.  Alyssin just got out of college and is looking for a job I think.  Miss Kittykins is a little black cat that was a stray which they recently adopted.  She's so funny!  (She will NEVER take the place of Hen though!)   Sigh...I will miss Hen SO much!  I just hope she doesn't miss me as much as I will miss her...I will feel so bad for her!  She sleeps with me every night and follows me around the house.  She thinks i'm her REAL mommy!     At least I will still see her once a week if not more.  I will probably pop home on Sundays at least.

Anyway...I will be moving into the place mid-september.  I told them at Sept. 1st was a bit TOO soon, but they are gonna let me move in 1/2-way through the month and I only have to pay 1/2-rent for that month.  So, that's a good deal.  I'm gonna paint the room before i move in, because right now it's a sky-blue, which goes with absolutely NOTHING that i will have in there.  I'm gonna paint it white which will make it look even bigger!   The only bad thing about the room is, it has a hideous carpet.  I am going to buy a couple area rugs to cover that bad-boy up, i think!

Anyway, i'd love for anyone to come by and visit me there!  Maybe i can have a few o' the girls over some night.  Hopefully I won't cry every night in my bed because i'm homesick!   I think I will be ok though...it's Hen i'm worried about!  But, I can't stay at home forever on account of her...that would be ridiculous.  With my luck, she'd live till I'm 50!  Anyway...now it's your turn to comment.  I'm going to shut up now!  There are all kinds of exciting things happening this fall, yay!

This is soon-to-be independent Heif, signing off....
